Admission Requirements:

To be eligible to undertake the programme applicants must hold a Level 7 ordinary degree in Computing or in a cognate discipline* with the necessary experiential or certified learning.

Mature applicants: Level 7 in Computing or a cognate discipline (Recognition of Prior Learning system may be used to gain entry)

Course summary

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Cloud Computing degree aims to develop students both technically and personally and produce broad based graduates of high academic and practical standards to match the needs of both the Irish and international IT industry. An emphasis is placed on cloud computing throughout and this focus is supported by the addition of modules in cloud architectures, networking, virtualisation, storage, security, cloud computing programing, information analytics and individual multidisciplinary projects. This combination of modules along with practical and laboratory workshops provides graduates with an ideal education that will enable them to seek entry to a wide variety of roles and levels of responsibility within the workforce.

Students should note that Fees quoted relate to the academic year 2017-2018 only and are subject to change on an annual basis. Except where stated, course fees cover the cost of tuition only. 

Course fees must be paid before attending lectures.

An Information/Registration session will take place on Wednesday 6th September from 6.00pm to 8.00pm at the CIT Bishopstown Campus. Institute staff will be in attendance to offer career guidance and assistance.

Please note: This part-time course is available online only. All classes are delivered over the Internet and all practical work is completed using CIT’s cloud infrastructure.

24 months (4 semesters) is the minimum duration

Further Studies

Graduates from the programme may apply for the taught MSc in Cloud Computing. Graduates may also apply to study for a research based MSc or PhD.

Award

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Cloud Computing (Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications).
(Single module certification possible).
