Gerard Mac Sweeney

Biography

Gerard completed his primary BSc in UCC (Mathematics and Computer Science) - this was followed by doing the Higher Diploma in Education (Secondary Teaching qualification). Gerard taught in a Merseyside school for fourteen years and while there he completed an MSc in Information Technology. Returning to Ireland, he lectured in WIT for two years teaching Visual Basic. He also worked as a part-time tutor for DCU - teaching C++ and Architecture for their degree programme. Gerard has been in CIT for about sixteen years mostly lecturing Operating Systems and Linux as well as co-coordinating the evening Certificate and BSc courses.
