Alejandro de la Flor Intel Security Scholarship for Department of Computing

13 October, 2016

Intel Security are funding this perpetual scholarship in memory of Alejandro de la Flor who passed away in 2008. Alejandro was an Erasmus exchange student who studied in the Department of Computing during the 2007/08 academic year. Alejandro did work placement with Intel Security (McAfee) while he was in Cork.

Louise Walsh, BSc (Hons) Software Development will receive the bursary for the next two years and has secured work placement with Intel Security.

Seven finalists were interviewed on Monday for the Intel Security Scholarship award. The feedback from the Intel Security interview team was hugely positive, they were very impressed with all the finalists. Unfortunately they had to make the difficult decision of selecting one; Louise Walsh was selected as the recipient of the Intel Security Scholarship 2016.

Louise is from Passage West and attended Regina Mundi College Douglas before entering CIT in 2014. She is currently a 3rd year student on the BSc (Hons) Software Development programme.
